About

First generation Swazi on one side, and 4th gen from eastern Europe on the other, I hail from Santa Monica and West LA. I was keenly aware of my "otherness" at a young age around being bi-racial, big, and multi-cultural. I took refuge in word-play, films and the music of my guardians: Jazz, folk, and spiritual (Jewish, South African, and Gospel). I sang, danced, and mimicked before becoming a flautist in band and orchestra for many years. I found basketball and sports in high school, and started acting while in college for creative writing: community spaces that forged a new sense of somatic wholeness (using all parts of me). Theatre became my profession as a senior in college after singing Jazz in the world premiere of a Marcus Gardley play in Berkeley, Ca. The world opened up as a place for storytelling, and my role in it as a multi-hyphenate artist.
